Sometimes you forget that it's the Fourth of July, and as a result you have what is potentially the most British day of your life. Or what I imagine is the most British. My opinions are probably skewed by the few movies I've seen, and I kinda doubt that Kiera Knightley in Pride & Prejudice is accurate to modern England. Regardless, my day trip to Oxford felt very British in the best way possible.
Just like in my trip to Cambridge, we felt that the best way to see the campus was by punting boat. Unlike Cambridge, Oxford offered the opportunity to spend £3 on straw boat hats and £3 on Pimms. Both felt entirely necessary to the boating experience. Although this tour was much less educational, it was a lot more fun. Especially because the tour guide let Katy stand up and push the boat around for awhile (scary but exciting). And what better way is there to celebrate the Fourth than drinking tea without taxes? Plus a side of lemon tart never hurts.
Sorry Cambridge, but Oxford stole my heart.
