You may recognize this look from my recent recap of the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas. After seeing how many cool murals there were downtown I decided to double-up on photoshoots (much to Tyler's joy, let me assure you).
Part of the reason why I wanted to share this look in a more in depth post, is that I am super excited about scarves! I am definitely late to this trend, but now that I've started, I can't stop. The best part is the versatility, since they can be worn around your neck or wrist, in your hair, or tied to the handle of a purse. Just by tying a quick knot you are able to add a fun pop of color to almost any look. I wore this pink bandana print with this statement sleeved tee, but I've also paired other scarves with sweaters or a laid back denim dress!
I've seen scarves in a wide range of prices which makes them perfect to try out the trend for the first time. This one in particular was around $5 at forever 21, so it didn't feel like a huge investment. On the other hand, I've bought higher quality (but higher cost) scarves in cool patterns from stores like Madewell. This mustard bandana is probably my favorite to style at the moment.
When it comes to accessorizing, I also love a good purse. My collection is growing pretty rapidly thanks to Studio Diy's clutch subscription service "Can't Clutch This". Each month they release a new design, so if you love receiving mail as much as I do you should totally check it out! Each of the pieces are so whimsical and Kelly Mindell is just the cutest ever.
As for this top, I am so crazy about the puffed sleeves - and it's just a cotton tee so I am able to wear it on a more low-key and relaxed day! When it bought it back in December it was on clearance for $10, so I grabbed it in orange too. I honestly regret not getting the baby blue as well, but Tyler was smart to point out that I didn't need 3 of the same shirts, especially since I spend 90% of the year too cold for shortsleeves. Oh well.
