Everyone knows I'm a sucker for a good mural, and I fell in love with this one right before my trip to visit Taylor in Orlando last Spring. I saw this photo by Oh Yeah Em (one of my favorite Disney bloggers) and immediately texted Taylor that it was a must for me. Unfortunately Taylor informed me that it was the that it was outside of Small World in Disneyland, not Disneyworld.
When Taylor and I first started planning our Disneyland trip, I told her I only had 1 request: a photoshoot in front of the Small World wall. Lucky for me she's a great friend and willing to put up with my shenanigans.
I'll be honest - I obsessed over this for months. I saved tons of other pics on Instagram as inspiration, and put a lot of thought into what outfit I wanted to wear.
I ended up switching gears completely only two weeks before our trip, when I found this top and skirt both on clearance at Zara in Las Vegas! The look was less than $30 total - I couldn't believe my luck. I had also been eyeing the polkadot ears before my trip, and they ended up matching perfectly. The pin I found once we were browsing park shops, and I really felt like it was the perfect final touch.
Overall I'm really happy with both my look, and the photoshoot. I definitely recommend the wall if you are looking for a cute spot for pics in Disneyland. Unlike a lot of other famous Disney walls (I'm looking at you mint julep), it's pretty wide so you can fit large groups. You can also take photos in front of different shapes within the pattern. I took a photo inside of the circle, which looks really cute, but be warned: the edge is really thin and it can be awkward to try and balance. There were definitely a lot of outtakes in that spot.
I would recommend shooting in this location when the parks first open, or during golden hour (about an hour and a half before the sun is completely set) because it gets a lot of direct sunlight. The pastel will look prettiest without any harsh shadows, and you won't end up squinting.
If you want to add a classic Disney treat to your shoot like I did, there is a stand that sells lollipops as well as the stand where I bought my cotton candy! This can also be a good way to bribe your photographer if necessary ☺️
