Only a few more days until Christmas, and my planner is full of parties and get-togethers with those dear to me! Last week I shared my bold red holiday look with Ann Taylor, but this week I'm styling something a little more classically "me", that's perfect for some of the more formal occasions.
There is no piece of clothing that makes me feel more myself than a dress or a skirt! I'm always the most comfortable when I like how I look, and dressing up is the easiest way for me to find confidence. I also feel best in colors that lean more "romantic" like light purples, pinks and deep reds. When I spotted this burgundy skirt and orchid sweater at the U Ville Ann Taylor, I immediately grabbed them and beelined for the fitting room. Maybe it's the fact that it was dangerously close to Sigma Kappa's lavender and maroon chapter colors, or the fact that I couldn't stop twirling, but I knew that I had to bring this look home with me.
The skirt itself is definitely a little dressier, so I've paired it with a couple other sweater and heels combinations from my closet. However, I could totally see it with a black leather jacket and black pump for cocktail hour or a show at the Paramount!
Even with the ruffles, the sweater is super versatile! It's fitted and a little bit light, so it's easy to layer. It looks formal with the skirt, but can easily be styled with jeans for a weekend of Christmas shopping, or dress pants for a day in the office. Either way, it's going to be on repeat, especially since the color will work long into Spring!
Thank you to Ann Taylor for working with me on this dream partnership! These items were provided to me at no cost as part of our collaboration, but style ideas and opinions shared in this post are my one. Click Here to check out more from Ann Taylor for your holiday parties!
