Yesterday I hopped on the lightrail and met a friend from my sorority down at Pioneer Square. After exploring a vintage pottery shop and grabbing a macaroon at a cafe, JLo (aka Jennifer Lo, aka J(en)Adore Blog) and I decided to try The London Plane. I've been wanting to go to this cafe/flower shop/bakery combo since my friend Taylor told me about it last year, but this weekend was my first time stopping by.
The space was super cute, with huge windows and an upper level for more seating. Unfortunately since the weather was gloomy there was much less natural light than I was hoping for, but in Seattle that can be expected. The menu was pricey with a lot of fancy ingredients I didn't recognize, so we settled on splitting a hazelnut honey toast on the sourdough bread they make in house. While the spread closely resembled Nutella, it was definitely more heavy on the hazelnut than the cocoa making it a little more bitter. I also got a bottle of Rachel's Ginger Beer, which is one of my favorite drinks. As someone who isn't a big fan of sugary tasting sodas, RGB is perfect when I want something other than water.
Luckily for us, by the time we were done inside the rain had died down to a sprinkle and we were able to take photos of our outfits. I was happy to debut my Madewell booties, which are more of statement piece than most of my shoes. When I picked these up on sale right after Christmas, I was drawn to the speckle pattern that reminded me of Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Net paintings, which I have been obsessed with since a feminist art class I took my sophomore year.
