Since freshman year, winter quarter has always been really difficult for me. The short daylight hours really get to me, and I struggle with finding motivation to keep up on schoolwork. This season is definitely no exception, and I feel like I have been counting down to the end of these classes since the first week. With my first final only a week away I am feeling both panicked and relieved that it will be over soon, and that I will finally get a break from the routine of 3 departmental classes and a part time internship.
Needless to say, I am extremely excited for anything with the word "spring" in it. Spring weather, spring cleaning, spring forward, and definitely spring break. Next Thursday I fly to Orlando to visit my friend Taylor at Disney World and take a much needed vacation. Sitting by the pool and eating dole whips is exactly what I need to recover from March's snow-rain combo, and as usual I used the trip as an excuse to buy some new outfits. I seriously can't wait to wear the cute dresses I picked up at Forever 21 last week. There is definitely a theme I accidentally adopted during my shopping spree, so expect tons of denim and off-the-shoulder looks.
Hopefully when I get back the weather in Seattle will have improved a little bit so I can pack up my fair isle sweaters and bring out my lighter jackets. After such a difficult winter I've vowed to appreciate April more and wear less black in order to truly get into the spirit of the season. We will see how long I last in color, it's definitely new territory for me. In the mean time I am loving pairing my army green with lighter shades like this thin knit sweater. It's perfect to transition from winter, and the neutral shade pairs well with most of my closet. I'm also expecting to wear more of my fun statement jewelry, like this necklace, especially since these pale pink tones and girly looks have been infiltrating my closet lately.
Now it's just time to get through these next two weeks of class and exams!
