If I had to pick one thing to eat for the rest of my life, it would probably be ice cream. If I had to pick one ice cream shop to visit for the rest of my life, it would probably be Molly Moon's.
From the unique flavors to the homemade cones, Molly Moon's is a Seattle must. There are several locations, including University Village and Capitol Hill. These photos were taken in Wallingford, where the shop features this fun mural and a parklette with outdoor seating!
My favorite flavors are all season, the all-time-best being Vegan Coconut Chunk (paired with their vegan hardshell chocolate) followed closely by the Mixed Berry FroYo (paired with lemon curd). However, there are definitely some classics on the permanent menu that are super yummy as well! I like Scout Mint, Stumptown Coffee, and Yeti. Tyler always goes for Sweet Cream!
Beyond the ice cream, Molly Moon's does a lot for the Seattle community. The purchase of Thin Mints sends several Girl Scouts to camp each year, and the Anna Banana Milk Fund was set up to provide families in need with fresh milk. They also support up and coming performers with their record label, and hire local artists to create art for their cups and merchandise.
Next time you're in Seattle be sure to check out one of the shops!
This week I'm really excited, because I am partnering with Bird + Stone to style a few pieces from their line of "jewelry with impact". Bird + Stone not only makes super cute accessories, but also focuses on building a world with gender equality. All of the pieces are ethically manufactured in New York, and each purchase gives back to a cause that supports their mission of female empowerment!
My favorite piece from their collection, is my "The Future is Female" cuff, which gives 10% of the proceeds to Planned Parenthood in order to fund preventative health and family planning services. Planned Parenthood also provides cancer screenings and sex education. As a PP donor and volunteer, I love being able to give continued support when I shop.
I also love this "Dream Builder" cuff, which funds micro-loans and financial training for women who struggle from poverty in rural Kenya. Bird + Stone helps these women start businesses and build their dreams.
In honor of this collaboration, I've decided to share some books about strong women that have empowered me!
Be sure to let me know if you read any of these books, and what you think! Also leave a comment if you have any suggestions for other books or resources that you've enjoyed, I'm always looking for a new read!
Thank you to Bird + Stone for partnering with me on this post! I received the jewelry at no cost, in exchange for this collaboration. You can learn more about the company and how they give back to the community on their site. As an added bonus, when you share your bracelet on Instagram, Bird + Stone doubles the donation to 20%!
